Our Artist in Residence

Emily Doherty
Every year, the Stratford School of Jewellery offers the award of Artist in Residence to a recent graduate who shows exceptional dedication to developing their creative metalworking skills and aesthetics.
This is a unique opportunity for the emerging designer maker to establish their productive philosophy, deepen their technical knowledge and grow their professional realisation alongside gaining mentoring support and workshop facilities.
This year’s AiR is Emily Doherty, a prize winning graduate from the Birmingham School of Jewellery, Emily is a mixed media artist creating experimental pieces with a range of precious and non precious materials. Her teaching practice allows students to embark on contemporary digital practices alongside fundamental workshop skills.
