Come and join us for a magical morning of making.

There is a fabulous quote by Thomas Merton- ‘Art enables us to find ourselves & lose ourselves at the same time’ This workshop will allow you to do just that. It is suitable for beginners but also those who already have a little experience of having used glass before but who want to explore different techniques. After a brief introduction to the language of glass you’ll practice scoring, cutting and layering. You will use sheet glass which has been rolled out like pastry, stringers & ribbons that resemble brightly coloured spaghetti or tagliatelle and coarse or fine frit that looks like rock & table salt, I’ll give you some ‘recipes’ to follow and once you’ve created you’re unique pieces I’ll cook them in my kiln- once you know how, it’s as easy as pie! You will create unique and festive Christmas pieces e.g. items of jewellery, candleholders, coasters, soap or small trinket dishes, decorations suspended from beautifully delicate organza ribbons, sun catches, glass  curves etc.

You will have your own pack of tools & materials along with access to additional supplies of glass etc. You will be provided with an apron and safety goggles/ masks.

This workshop session is not suitable for under 14s.

With over 22 years  teaching experience you can be sure of receiving all the support, guidance & encouragement you need in order to achieve your full creative potential. Refreshments included

Your items will be fired after the workshop and ready for collection within seven days.  Items can also be posted for a cost of £3.50
